The Telemedicine programme has been approved by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM). The Department has implemented the programme by identifying and designating 04 HUBs for Ayush teleconsultation services through the e-Sanjeevani portal. Simultaneously, e-Sanjeevani OPD has also been started in Ayurvedic College, Paprola, District Kangra (GoI website: e-Sanjeevani).

All the HUBs have been mapped with HUB-cum-SPOKE units (608 in total) designated by the National Health Mission (NHM). For successful implementation, 36 specialist clinical doctors including Kaya Chikitsa (Medicine), Shalya Tantra, Swasthvrit & Yog, and Strirog Visheshagya (Gynecology) have been deployed in these HUBs and the e-Sanjeevani OPD.
The Mobile Medical Unit programme was approved by the Ministry of AYUSH under NAM for the year 2023-24 and launched in the state on 11.12.2024.
The programme focuses on remote and tribal regions such as Kinnaur, Spiti, Pangi and the Shillai Block of District Sirmour. Each Mobile Medical Unit consists of an Ayurvedic Medical Officer (AMO), an Ayurvedic Pharmacy Officer (APO), and a Class-IV worker. The MMU vehicle is equipped with sufficient space for medicines, equipment, and IEC material.
This programme was launched by the Hon’ble AYUSH Minister on 3rd July 2024 at Joginder Nagar, District Mandi. It is being implemented by the Regional Centre of Excellence in Ayurveda for Geriatric Healthcare at the Rajiv Gandhi Postgraduate Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Paprola.
Under this programme, the following manpower is to be engaged on an outsourced basis through HPSEDC: 12 AYUSH Doctors, 06 Masseurs, 01 Staff Nurse, 01 Pharmacist, and 04 Data Entry Operators.
VAYO MITRA is another programme under the AYUSH Public Health Component of NAM, running parallel to the NPPMOAMD. It focuses on screening and evaluating individuals above 60 years of age for diseases and risk factors common in the geriatric population.
People screened are advised on Dincharya, Pathya-Apathya, and Yoga/Asanas according to health status and risk of musculoskeletal or other chronic diseases. Those requiring medicines or Panchkarma receive appropriate care, while complex cases are referred to higher health facilities. The programme is currently running in Baijnath and Panchrukhi blocks.
Yoga is an important activity conducted at AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres (AHWCs) and taught to the public as a community-based health promotion intervention. Qualified yoga instructors conduct sessions in schools, Anganwadis, Panchayats, and other community spaces within the AAM catchment areas.
Group-specific yoga practices are organized for pregnant women, lactating mothers, school children, adolescents, elderly individuals, diabetics, and more. The Yoga Sarvodaya Programme was launched on 2nd October 2024 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti to mobilize and promote widespread participation in yoga across the state of Himachal Pradesh.
